Events and Development Internship
When: March-May 2011
Pay: Expenses only (travel and lunch costs)
We have an exciting new opportunity for a highly motivated individual interested in beginning a career in Event Management, PR & Marketing or Administration within the arts and charity sectors.

Job Specification
-Assisting the Events & Administration officer in developing and implementing the event program for St Margaret’s House and The Gallery Cafe.
-Dealing with public enquiries via email and telephone.
-Maintaining The Gallery Cafe blog and web-profile via social networking sites.
-The opportunity to establish and manage your own in-house events.
-Marketing; creating media lists, drafting and distributing press releases, designing marketing
materials, writing copy.
-Online marketing; social networking, listings, writing copy.
-Researching and brainstorming for new ways in which we can provide for the community.
-Sourcing external musicians and equipment, looking after in-house PA facilities.
-Assisting the development team with ad-hoc duties.

Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
-Interest in the music industry.
-Knowledge of social networking and the media.
-Experience in events desirable but not essential.
-Ability to work successfully on a variety of tasks simultaneously.
-Ability to use initiative and monitor work schedule independently.
-Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
- High degree of computer literacy.
- First-rate organisational skills.
- Friendly and personable manner.
